Car2U Vehicle Listing Assistant — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 22, 2026

This policy describes how the Car2U Vehicle Listing Assistant Chrome extension processes data.

1. What the extension does

The extension extracts information from open vehicle listings and assists users in transferring information to Mobile.bg and Cars.bg. Supported sources include CarGurus, Openlane, IAAI, AutoTrader, Encar and Kcar.

The extension may perform Ross Auto calculations and, when the user provides their own Gemini API key and prompt, may use Google Gemini to generate listing descriptions.

This version does not use a login, upload API, or backend operated by the former developer and does not send data to a proprietary Car2U backend.

2. Data processed

From vehicle listing pages, the extension may process:

The extension may store user-provided settings including name, phone number, dealer name/brand, email address, Mobile.bg and Cars.bg links, commission amount, Gemini API key and AI prompt.

3. Where data is stored

User settings are stored using Chrome Storage. Current/last vehicle listing data may be stored locally in Chrome Storage so it can be transferred to the destination website.

The Gemini API key is stored in Chrome Storage and is used only when Gemini functionality is enabled.

4. External services

Depending on the feature used:

The extension does not send this data to a proprietary Car2U server.

5. Ross Auto authentication

When Ross calculation is used, the extension uses the user's current session on calculator.rossauto.ca, including the required quotation authentication access, to submit the calculation to Ross Auto.

The extension does not send the Ross authentication token to Car2U or to the former developer.

6. Gemini API key

The Gemini API key is voluntarily entered by the user. The extension uses it directly for requests to the Google Gemini API and does not send it to a proprietary Car2U backend.

7. Analytics and advertising

This version does not contain its own advertising system and does not use Google Analytics code.

8. Sale or sharing of data

Car2U does not sell the data processed by the extension and this version has no proprietary backend for collecting vehicle or user data.

9. User control

The user decides whether to use Gemini, whether to use Ross calculations, which photos to select, and when to start transferring information to Mobile.bg or Cars.bg.

The user can remove locally stored settings through Chrome Storage or the extension settings.

10. Contact

For questions about the extension or this privacy policy, contact the Car2U team through the contact information provided with the extension.
